When Should I Book My Thanksgiving Cruise?
What do you need to know about a Thanksgiving cruise?

If possible, book early.

Many families travel over the holidays, as children are out of school, so try to book your cruise as early as possible to have the best selection of staterooms. Cruise ships have a limited number of triple and quadruple occupancy staterooms for larger families, and an even more limited number of adjoining, or connecting, staterooms.

Holiday cruises are very popular allowing families time to make memories together and leave the cooking and cleaning to the cruise line.

So, the later you book your Thanksgiving cruise, and the higher the demand on availability, the more likely it is you will be paying a higher cruise rate or your desired ship will be completely full without any capacity whatsoever.

Another reason to go ahead and book your Thanksgiving cruise?

Airfare.

If you dont take advantage of a peak season offer like that sooner rather than later, any amount you save on the cruise will go directly to the cost of airfare as holiday travel can spike flight costs.

Avoid this by booking a cruise that departs close to home. If flying is your only option, plan to arrive to your departure port early, even if that means a pre-cruise hotel stay.

With congested airports and delays, the last thing you would want to happen is your family missing their Thanksgiving cruise due to a missed connection or cancellation.

You can also consider purchasing airfare through the cruise line, it could potentially be less and the cruise line takes responsibility for getting you to the ship on time. This is reassuring if your flight is delayed or there are any unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from boarding on time.

Want to take advantage of traveling during Thanksgiving without the crowds?

Smaller or luxury cruise ships are the best choice for cruise passengers that prefer not to cruise with young children and families.
