Silversea Books Big-Name Authors, Experts for World Cruise

Best-selling novelists Mary Higgins Clark and Lynne Truss are set to join the prominent guest speakers aboard Silver Whispers 2013 world cruise. The 115-day voyage sails Jan. 5 from Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale.

Higgins Clark, whose books have sold more than 100 million copies in the US alone, is scheduled for the Feb. 25-March 8 segment, Hong Kong to Singapore.

Humorist and author Truss, whose Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation has sold more than 3 million copies, is booked to sail Feb. 4-25, Sydney to Hong Kong.

Renowned military historian Nigel West, who specializes in intelligence, counterintelligence and security issues, and whose many books include At Her Majesty's Secret Service, will sail April 5-May 1, Cape Town to Fort Lauderdale.

Other scheduled speakers include former hostage negotiatior/hostage Terry Waite, British broadcast journalist Michael Buerk and South Africa political leader Tony Leon. Also booked to speak are historian and world affairs expert Philip Hurst, opera impresario Thomson Smillie and world affairs commentator Dr. Mark Elovitz.
