For the first time, Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas will offer itineraries in Europe for a short autumn season in 2014.
The Oasis shares the title of the world's biggest cruise ship with sister ship Allure of the Seas. Since her debut in 2009, the Oasis of the Seas has been sailing Caribbean itineraries from Fort Lauderdale.
The 225,282-ton, 5,400-passenger Oasis will offer two transatlantic crossings and three Europe cruises before heading for a routine maintenance dry-dock in the Netherlands fall of 2014.
Departing Sept. 1, 2014 the Oasis of the Seas will head eastbound for 12-nights from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona. She will return to Fort Lauderdale on a 13-night westbound voyage departing Rotterdam Oct. 14, 2014. Passengers may also board the westbound crossing Oct. 15, 2014 in Southampton, England.
After arriving in Europe, Oasis of the Seas will offer a choice of three European sailings. Itineraries include two Western Mediterranean cruises sailing for 5-nights round-trip from Barcelona and a 7-night cruise from Barcelona to Rotterdam, The Netherlands where the Oasis will enter drydock.
Itinerary details and ports of call will be made in an announcement before the cruises open for sale on Apr. 11, 2013.
"Nothing can compare to the Oasis-class vacation experience, a testament to Royal Caribbean's more than 40 years of innovation," said Lisa Bauer, executive vice president of Global Sales and Marketing, Royal Caribbean International.
