Royal Caribbean was recently recognized as a Best Baby Getaway of 2012 by American Baby Magazine for its infant friendly Royal Babies and Royal Tots Nursery program.
With most onboard youth programs offered for children ages 3 and up, the Royal Babies and Royal Tots Nursery was the first of its kind when debuted on Oasis of the Seas in 2009.
Parents can now take advantage of a daytime and evening drop-off service for a nominal fee ($8/hour) for infants and toddlers from 6-36 months. They can play and take part in specially designed educational programs so parents can appreciate much-needed grown up time.
Little cruisers are cared for by professional caregivers, all have four-year university degrees or an international equivalent in Recreation, Education or a related field. They are required to have at least 3 to 5 years of experience working with children 6 months and up. They also participate in a specially developed, 30-hour training program and curriculum conducted by an accredited Florida instructor at the Little Cruisers Child Care Center in Miami.
Cruisers under 3 are also able to enjoy the Fisher-Price Toy Lending Program. Parents and toddlers can stop in Adventure Ocean to borrow and exchange a variety of Fisher-Price developmental toys for use in the stateroom and around the ship.
Parents can join in the fun with their children during 45-minute interactive playgroup sessions developed by early childhood experts at Fisher-Price. Or enjoy story time while creating works of art using Crayola Beginnings products.
If your cruise itinerary includes a stop in CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's private beach destination in the Bahamas, little ones will not want to miss the Fisher-Price Power Wheels Track. Created for little cruisers exclusively, they can take a spin in a variety of Power Wheels including a mini Mustang, Jeep or Cadillac Escalade.
The Royal Babies and Royal Tots Nursery has received such positive response, Royal Caribbean decided to extend the reach of their nursery as part of their Royal Advantage revitalization program. By the end of 2012, nurseries will be available on 11 ships across its newly renovated fleet.
Ships that offer Royal Caribbean's Royal Babies and Royal Tots Nursery include Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas, Splendour of the Seas, Radiance of the Seas, Rhapsody of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, Grandeur of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas.
