Norwegian Breakaway to Sail South from New York in Winter 2013/14

Norwegian Breakaway will operate Bahamas/Florida and Caribbean itineraries in winter 2013/14 following the ship’s previously announced inaugural Bermuda summer season.

After the seven-day Bermuda cruises, Norwegian Breakaway will embark on 25 week-long sailings to the Bahamas and Florida beginning on Oct. 13, 2013. The ship will also sail two 12-day southern Caribbean itineraries on Jan. 5 and 19, 2014, along with two weekend escapes on Jan. 17 and 31.

These cruises go on sale to Norwegian’s top travel partners and Latitudes Rewards members (past customers) today and to the general public on Friday.

President and ceo Kevin Sheehan said Norwegian Cruise Line has experienced 'great demand' for Norwegian Breakaway's Bermuda program. For its winter inaugural season, the ship will provide an escape from the Northeast cold, and it will visit the line's newly enhanced private island, Great Stirrup Cay.

Bahamas and Florida cruises depart on Sundays and visit Nassau, and Port Canaveral in addition to Great Stirrup Cay. These sailings run through April 27, 2014.

Norwegian Breakaway’s 12-day southern Caribbean cruises include San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados and St. Kitts.

The 144,000gt ship is under construction at Meyer Werft for delivery in April next year.
