HAL Delivers Culinary Stars for Summer Cruises

On cruises this summer, Holland America Lines Culinary Arts Center program presented by Food & Wine magazine will host five celebrated chefs to showcase their expertise and share tips with passengers. Chef Kevin Sbraga, food stylist Denise Vivaldo, entrepreneur Sonia Hunt, chef Angelo Sosa, and chef Jonathon Sawyer will be aboard five ships in July and August.

Each expert will present complimentary cooking demonstrations in the Culinary Arts Center, with recipe handouts, food tastings and the opportunity for questions and photos with the culinary celebrities.

Sbraga, who opened his first restaurant, Sbraga, in 2011 on Philadelphias Avenue of the Arts after becoming the first African-American Top Chef in winning season seven of the Bravo hit series in 2010, is scheduled to sail aboard Noordams 10-day Roman Empire cruise departing July 17.

Vivaldo, the founder of Food Fanatics, a catering, recipe development and food styling firm based in Los Angeles and the author of several books, is scheduled for Westerdams July 21 Alaskan Explorer cruise.

Hunt, president of Noie Media, a multimedia production company and creator and host of Stirring It Up!, a lifestyle entertainment show, is scheduled to sail aboard Oosterdams seven-day Alaskan Explorer cruise on July 22.

Sosa, who has competed in Top Chef and Top Cheff All Stars, is currently executive chef and owner of Social Eatz with a menu that blends New York City staples with flavors from across Asia. He is booked for Prinsendams Norway and British Isles voyage on Aug. 8.

Sawyer, executive chef at The Greenhouse Tavern in Cleveland, Ohios first green restaurant and a 2012 semifinalist for the Fames Beard Foundation Award in the Best Chef: Great Lakes category, is scheduled to sail aboard Zaandams seven-day Alaska Inside Passage cruise on Aug. 19.
