Disney Fantasy Takes Shape in Shipyard

Disney Fantasy reached a construction milestone on Saturday September 3rd when the final block was laid at Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. A 265-ton portion of the ship’s bow, complete with the signature Disney Cruise Line golden filigree, was put in place.

Disney Fantasy will reprise many features of sister Disney Dream including the AquaDuck water coaster.

Elements distinctive to the new ship will be Europa, a nighttime entertainment district for adults; a new show for Animator’s Palate restaurant where diners will serve as guest animators; and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where aspiring young princesses and pirates receive make-overs.

One of the featured shows will be ‘Disney’s Aladdin,’ a Broadway-style production of the classic animated Disney film, ‘Aladdin.’

Disney Fantasy will sail alternating seven-night cruises from Port Canaveral to the Eastern and Western Caribbean and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

The maiden voyage is scheduled for March 31.
