Disney Cruise Line announced plans to sail for the first time ever to Jamaica, beginning in late 2013.

Currently their flag-ship, the Disney Magic, is sailing from new homeport Galveston on four to eight-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean itineraries with stops including Costa Maya and Cozumel Mexico, and a stop in Georgetown, Grand Cayman.

In fall of 2013, the Disney Wonder will head to Galveston and begin its seven-night Western Caribbean itineraries, with a stop in Falmouth, Jamaica in place of Costa Maya, Mexico.

A historic Georgian town on Jamaica's north coast, Falmouth opened to cruise ships in 2011 after the construction of a 32-acre, two-berth port complex that is a joint venture between Royal Caribbean and the Port Authority of Jamaica. It serves as a gateway to a wide range of attractions in northern Jamaica including bamboo raft rides along the Martha Brae River and tours of plantation homes.
