Dancing Fountains, Light Show Join Royal Princess Top Deck Features
A water and light show with dancing fountains joins the expanded top deck features of Royal Princess, with its 30% larger Movies Under the Stars screen and glass-bottom SeaWalk.

Princess Cruises is placing even more emphasis on outdoor entertainment with the new ship, said EVP Jan Swartz.

In March 2011, when the line shared the first details about its new prototype vessel, it revealed the SeaWalk that extends 28 feet beyond the ship's starboard side, 128 feet over the water. It talked about the expanded Movies Under the Stars theater and how the top deck would be more developed as a nightspot.

The top deck will sport various lounging options, palm trees and two pools flanking an island. Seating choices will include circular loungers, garden-style furniture, bar-height tables and stools, and chaise lounges. In the pool areas, entertainment will include games and live music inspired by the ports of call.

At night, the top deck will transform with architectural lighting effects, while the island area between the pools will become a stage for an interactive sound and light show featuring dancing fountains. A computerized fountain with 85 water jets will shoot streams of water 33ft into the night sky.

The Movies Under the Stars theater will have chaise lounge seating with pillow, blanket and free popcorn. Or passengers can watch films, concerts and events from the large whirlpool spas above the pools.

On select evenings, the island will be transformed into an outdoor dance floor for Princess's "Ultimate Deck Party" with a DJ perched two decks up on a special balcony.
