Posted October 18, 2012
The Carnival Conquest, currently based in New Orleans, sailed into dry-dock on October 14th for a two-week multi-million dollar refurbishment.

Part of Carnivals $500 million Fun Ship 2.0 fleetwide enhancement program, the Carnival Conquest will receive major upgrades to her dining, bar and entertainment venues. Included in the 2.0 upgrade will be some of Carnivals most popular features from their newest ships, like the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Magic.

Returning to service in New Orleans on October 28th, passengers sailing on the Conquest post-facelift can now enjoy Guys Burger Joint, a delicious partnership with Food Network personality Guy Fieri, an EA Sports bar, and the popular poolside RedFrog Rum Bar and BlueIguana Tequila Bar.

Entertainment will be taken to another level with the addition of Hasbro, The Game Show where you can team up with family members to play your favorite games on stage to win cool prizes. Your funny bone will want to visit Punchliners Comedy Club and Brunch presented by George Lopez, guaranteeing laughs with its lineup of comedic talent. And if you like dancing in your seat, even in a theater, Playlist Productions puts on an amazing show that transforms your favorite songs into a full musical production with high-tech LED staging and live performances from professional singers and dancers.

That is just a taste of what to expect onboard the Carnival Conquest 2.0 which will take everything you love about a Carnival cruise experience and make it even better; more laughing, dancing, eating and more fun.

The Conquest will continue to sail from New Orleans until November 9, 2013 when she will reposition to Miami and operate year-round 7-day Caribbean itineraries; one Eastern Caribbean followed by a Western Caribbean departure.

In addition to the Carnival Conquest, the Carnival Elation offers cruisers from New Orleans 4 and 5 day cruises to Mexico.
