PONANT connects you everywhere in the world with the Starlink network. Every PONANT guest can now access the Starlink network. By complementing the existing service with Starlink, provided by Marlink, PONANT ensures you quality WiFi access to the internet, regardless of the location and conditions. This free service helps enhance your onboard experience, while improving operations and navigation.
- Limitations: While the service is high-speed and generally reliable, a common user experience note is that only one device can be active on the internet at any given time per passenger login. You must log off one device before connecting with another.
About Starlink
Connecting via Starlink allows you to access the internet, stay in touch with your loved ones, and share your travel memories at any time, without changing your connection habits.
Operated by Space X and provided by Marlink, the Starlink constellation consists of 6,000 satellites deployed in low Earth orbit for faster connections and reduced latency. The Starlink network increases the available bandwidth and geographical coverage compared to the main VSAT network operated via geostationary satellites. The collaboration between the ship's gateway, the technical team, and the onshore teams is seamless and ensures better navigation. The entire fleet has been gradually equipped throughout the year 2023.
