The Haven. Even as an avid cruiser, I had not yet had the fortune to sail in a Norwegian Haven Suite. It was still on my cruise bucket list, something I one day aspired to experience. Until, that is, my Norwegian Encore test cruise.

The Haven Suites command a pretty hefty price tag compared to general cabins, and I have to admit, even having familiarized myself with the stateroom photos and content, I wondered if it was worth it.

The short answer is yes, the NCL’s Haven is definitely worth the cost. Read on for why the Haven on Norwegian merits luxury cruise pricing.

Norwegian Haven Restaurant

Norwegian Cruise Line - Norwegian Haven Restaurant, Norwegian Haven Bar and Lounge, Norwegian Haven Courtyard

As a Haven guest, you have access to an additional private dining option – The Haven Restaurant. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner exclusively to Haven clientele, this upscale culinary venue was by far our favorite restaurant on board. The brie burger was so good I had it twice!

Of course, if you choose to dine in the main dining rooms, buffets, or other specialty restaurants, those options are available to Haven guests as well.

Norwegian Haven Bar & Lounge

Accessible only with your distinctive keycard, the bar and lounge area is where you can meet other Haven guests, and relax with a cocktail.

Norwegian Haven Courtyard

Looking for a private cabana? Don’t want to fight for a place at the pool on sea days? As a Haven guest, you’ll have access to an exclusive courtyard area with its own pool, sundeck and hot tub. Access to this area is restricted to ages 16 and over.

Norwegian Haven Butler

Receive personalized service 24-hours a day from your dedicated Haven butler. From unpacking your luggage to accommodating special requests, your butler is available virtually anywhere you are by using the included mobile phone.

How much does the Haven cost on Norwegian?

A Haven Suite does come at a premium. On average, a Haven Suite will run about 60-65% more than the cost of a standard Suite, and about 70% more than a standard Balcony cabin. You can plan on spending around $500 - $1,000 per person, per day for this luxury experience, depending on ship, sail date and destination.

In terms of inclusions, the Haven on Norwegian is worth it because of its ship-within-a-ship concept. This is an especially attractive option for those traveling with multi-generational families. The Haven provides an elegant, quieter area of the ship for the adults to enjoy, while the kids can still access all of the excitement and onboard activities not available on smaller luxury lines.
