Free Wi-Fi Hotspots in Cozumel, Mexico

In our last Free Wi-Fi Hotspots post, we discussed the benefits of disconnecting on a cruise vacation.
But, we all know that we can’t fully unplug. There are times we may need to get in touch with someone at home or they just have to see a picture of your delicious Cozumel-style mega-margarita right now!
If you’re taking a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico you do have a few locations near each cruise ship dock. So to save you a little time, we’ve put together a list of free Wi-Fi hotspots in Cozumel.
Keep in Mind:
Wi-Fi is great for keeping up with everyone at home, or uploading pictures, but it is still an unsecured connection. Protect yourself by not conducting any personal business, like accessing bank information, over an unsecured connection especially while traveling internationally.
While we have gathered the latest information on hotspots, they can always change, so the crew of your ship will be the best resource for finding free or inexpensive Wi-Fi hotspots; this is how they keep in touch with their families, too!
There are three cruise ship piers located nearby one another on the western side of Cozumel.
- Punta Langosta Pier: downtown, just north of the Naval Base; walk to restaurants, bars, shops, duty-free, etc.; taxis everywhere
- TMM International Pier: about 7 minutes by cab from downtown; taxis readily available
- Puerta Maya – Built in association with Carnival: about 7 minutes by cab from downtown just south of the international pier; surrounded by flea market, waterfront restaurant, duty-free shops, beach; taxi stand at exit
Taxis will be lined up at each pier and cost about $5 per ride into town, and $10-$15 to the local beaches. Settle on a rate before you start for your destination, as some drivers will try to overcharge for longer trips.

- Starbucks Punta Langosta Mall. Starbucks offers free Wi-Fi (for the first 15 minutes) in their store at the Punta Langosta Mall, across from the Punta Langosta pier.
